I mean contemporary/traditional Western death rituals. It all just seems to be designed to upset grieving loved ones even more. Unnecessary trauma. Some of it is rather bizarre, the chapel of rest viewings. A Christian funeral is still the norm despite much of the population now being secular. I think i'd want a humanist funeral, or better still, no funeral at all. I don't see the point.

Good point or question.
Up there with marriages.
Where did this desire come from that we need rituals for this and that?
The Catholic Church has all this **** through your whole life.
Baptism.
First confirmation and communion.
Mass and Sunday services.
Marriage.
Funeral.
And through it all, making you feel like you did something wrong with their guilt trips they make you confess to it.
And it is all bullshit.
