What i learnt from this film
Europeans do things differently then us American's when it comes down to film.If your outlook of things is the same as one Maria bello .Go to Europe to make such films.American's do things differently It really is like trying to fit a square peg in the round hole .It just doesn't work well here ;she and others like her seem to miss that point .
The investigation portion of this movie is for a lack of a better term Gay ( no pun offense to gays ,i got nothing against gays my cousin who is like a close brother is gay ) It's obvious where the film makers placing his cross hairs as fair target audience. The homosexual ones in this case ;it really felt like more a comic relief than anything .
It seemed one sided : This whole movie seems to just lean to one side .They really are milking the victim role here ;from this evil entity called the MPAA.
the film business is just that a business: At the end of the day it's all about that dollar and marketing product .The art part needs to be taken out of the equation . It doesn't matter artistically, only monetarily films are made to make money .If you want do real art films which are usually shown in much smaller scale.Like in actual art venues and only for a limited time and there strictly done for artistic merit .Kind of like matthew barney type where you can evade ratings all together. Why not just do that instead ? the reality is they wont .Their looking to make a buck just everyone else plain and simple .
These people perceptions about things seem to a bit topsy turvy : In the beginning of the movie someone mentioned. Why even bother getting your film rated you don't need to .The only reason would be i guess for commercial attention brave going without it.Another person made a comment about reality and war saying that.If we can't handle reality we shouldn't be going to war ( something to that affect). Movies aren't reality they are fiction if you cant handle that reality. You shouldn't be in the film industry.
This film is supposed to be about mpaa some how it becomes a skin flix??? whats up with that ? Another thing which got my attention is when the director of american psycho was talking about the NC-17 rating .How it was being explained to her that it was originally and X rating but.Got knocked down to a NC-17 rating. So wouldn't that mean your perpetuating more or less the same thing ? how can you not say what your doing is not porn like .
When clearly that is what it is when you think about .If it was X rated it would be porn NC-17 sex is just a lower level of porn right ? .This film also seemed to jump from fighting against the powers that Be for scrutiny from the MPAA to just being about sex .What is the point to show all the sex in this film when the original problem isnt/wasn't being solved. Placing loads of sex clips sure didn't help.
most of the violence in this movie was action based or stylized action.I do agree they too far with the graphic nature of these violent films.Having action films is the lesser of two evils again its all fake its clearly made for entertainment purposes.Even when a few nuts go crazy and shoot up a school and blame movies for it its harmless.
The parents job is to monitor what the child sees ,its not the film makers job.Nor is it MPAA job to do so we don't need big brother doing everything for us .The one thing that was pointed out was that kids can see graphic anything today at the click of a mouse .This is very true you have hollywood and the media at large to thank for that .Like i said it's all Big business their just trying to sell and reach the masses and influence them in such way .To where they get them to buy /involved in the product they're selling that's all it is .Don't let these Artsy types fool you their just hollywood hippies that's all .
Finally these are my feelings on why sex get's treated the way it does in film.I feel the core truth of the matter is that these raters know .That sex today especially in this country is everywhere .While people want to express and put it out there people still have issues .With educating the youth on the subject that's the truth its a slimy subject.I feel instead of making such graphic sex scenes in film we should instead influence teachers and community to be open to talking about it .As well as setting up classes and being open about it and just educating people .
It all comes down to the level of understanding most kids they feel shouldn't view.Adult content because they wouldn't understand and the stuff that would stick out .The most and be imprinted in them is the graphic stuff.Violent and sexual, young kids are way over stimulated these days its not there fault.Maybe instead of showing raunchy envelope pushing sex scenes isn't such a great idea. When the education factor is being tip toed around still .It's like why are you going to just create more of the same .If they can go behind our backs and get it anytime they want .
    Why throw more ga

Jesus, how old are you? I think you've misunderstood the entire point of the film, and have drawn some REALLY beep up conclusions.
