I'm talking about the scene where the prostitute is in the hospital and Erica goes there with the cop.
The prostitute says "That's a really pretty necklace," and Erica gives her the necklace Was she really bribing Erica? The necklace was really important to Erica, I don't think she would have parted with it if she didn't absolutely have to. So was the girl kind of saying "If you don't give me that necklace I'll rat you out"? The necklace didn't look like it was valuable, either. -

I didn't get the bribing thing you bring up at all. Erica basically saved the girl from who knows what.and the giving her the necklace was just that they had formed a bond.
Dammit Carol Sue, where is the vodka?! -

love this film. Just watched it for my third time. i believe she gave her the necklace out of a desire to be able to do SOMEthing nice for this woman who had had such a horrible experience.Erica had felt tenderness towards the woman when they were in the taxi and she still felt the same tenderness for her when she saw her in the hospital. And also, when she referred to the necklace as she and terrence were walking down the hall afterward, she said 'that meant alot to me' and i think she was very consciously referring to 'me' as 'the old me, that i can never go back to.'

I thought the same thing too. It could of been a bribe or affection. When chole was questioned she was all over Ericas necklace. Then After Erica gave it to Chole, then she was all like "l saw nothing". Gift or bribe who knows epic film :-).
