I wondered; I thought the film owed a lot to Greenaway too (and all the better for it).

I did think it was reminiscent of A Clockwork Orange when I was watching it, but I didn't think it was alike enough to be considered a rip-off. The author may have been inspired by the film which was released ins 1971. I don't consider that a bad thing because all artists must be inspired by something. Look at how the film Blade Runner inspired other artists. Chris Nolan's The Dark Knight for instance was by his own admission inspired by Blade Runner and one can see elements of BR in that movie, but no one could call it a rip-off. I see the same homage to ACO in High-Rise.
Reaction time is a factor in this, so please pay attention.

Quite agree, HR is of a part with quite a few films, like lots of allegories.

Totally inspired by Kubrick for sure.

Sorry. I get no A Clockwork Orange vibes from this film at all. The poster is an awesome piece of art though.
