That wasn't actually too bad…

I'm not one to default on the negative but I was bored out of my mind. It wasn't funny enough to be a Marvel/DC parody which it seemed like it tried to be. I did like GaryPoppinsMan and Lois Lane (already forgot her character's actual name.) I hope the Infinity Stoneeh, sorry, "gem"doesn't make a comeback.
I also want Matt Lucas to just go away, he was pointless and irritating. But there seems to be quite a bit of him in series 10 going by that trailer in the end so I guess no such luck.

It's a homage to the comic movies of old times like the first Superman movies and not to the modern Marvel/DC CGI fest. Also why would DW, especially New Who that doesn't take itself too seriously, do a parody of something else?

No idea, but that's what it felt like to me. I can roll with homage, that's not my main issue with the special, as I said Grant and his girl were my favorite part of the episode.

a cuckold superhero soon to be a "my wifes son" type, i knew the BBC were excessively PC but that is hilarious
Seriously? F'ck me, you idiots will find anyway to stretch to 'ooh it's PC gone mad'.
What the hell were you watching it for when it's quite obvious you were set to despise it from the off?
Let's roll some tits up the flagpole and see if anyone gets wood. -

I don't even know what this means, there was nothing original about the dude he was basically a mix of Peter Parker, Superman and Mary Poppins - none of which are BBC properties. I thought you guys would be thrilled, all the UNIT personnel we saw were male! Hurrah!

Ah, I should have understood that, damn BBC and Moffat! But at least we get the continuous presence of Matt Lucas' character, who's the whitest of all white characters? (I mean the guy's
white
, not white as in the general "white" of the Caucasian people's skin color but white of the color white.) So win for the anti-PC crowd! They now have their own useless "token" companion!
(By the way I've nothing personally against Matt Lucas, the actor, but I just find that character beyond annoying and pointless.)
