Why do we really need a lame goof to make fun of our classic movies, and turn a 75 minute movie into 2 hours?
Not everyone who likes classic scifi and horror are 10 years old. especially staying up till 11pm. just show the damn movie! Aargh! -

I'm guessing that you don't understand the horror host thing?
Read about horror hosts at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horror_host .
Svengoolie is a horror host show, a type of show where the a person shows movies, cracks jokes, has skits, etc.
These types of shows were very popular many years ago but have been dying out over the years, so there's only a hand-full of horror hosts now.
And many of them are in local markets, so not many national horror hosts exist any-more. IIRC, Svengoolie (ME-TV) and Chiller Drive-In (RTV) are national horror hosts, except, Chiller Drive-In won't have any new shows because the creator, Wolfman Mac, has decided to not continue the show (re-runs will still be shown on RTV). -

I did read about that on Facebook. I wonder if Wolman Mac stopped because of Svengoolie on at the same time as Chiller Drive In? I used to watch Wolfman Mac until MeTv Boston area switched to 5.2 under NBC Channel 5. This is when they stopped airing infomercials early which previously was making us OTA Tv people in this area miss the good shows like Svengoolie. Gawd What an awful time to air infomercials. Me TV has been so much better now that it's under NBC as a sub-channel.
I love watching horror host show movies because it's much more fun and it feels like you're watching the movie not alone. -

I'm on Wolfman's Mac's Facebook and he claimed it was because he wants to work on his mobile internet business where he gets paid to make websites work on mobile phones/tablets.
But you do make a good point about Chiller Drive-in and Svengoolie being on the same time. I would watch Svengoolie and record Chiller Drive-in on my DVR.
Used to watch the shows when I had Service Electric Cable TV in Allentown, PA because they played both RTV and MeTV.
We switched to DirecTV and they don't have these 2 channels. Wrote to them asking for them to add the channels. -

DeepFriedJello is what I call a "curmudgeon". A crabby old person. I'll admit, there are some "Svengoolie" shows that I watched for the movie, but I
ALWAYS
watch for Sven's antics.

I just recently found him a couple of months ago! Eh, he's OK, but I actually do watch for those old movies you just don't see any more. When I was young, we had local tv horror hosts every Friday night and Saturday afternoon, and the actors are still alive today and absolutely LOVED by all us baby boomers who remember those days so fondly, lol. Svengoolie provides background on the movies, which I find interesting. Glad to make time on Saturday nights for Svengoolie!
