Sadly, it just didn't make enough at the box office, which the first one failed to do too.
There's still rumour and speculation about a third, and final, part- so fingers crossed!

yeah it's pretty clear this franchise supposed to be at least a trilogy. the whole "prophecy" plot thing still left unanswered and it got more mysteries. The Dark Knight monopolized the whole audiences in that year, so it's understandable that the movie underperformed in box office

I'm just disappointed because GdT promised supplementary material if he wasn't able to give us a third movie and that still hasn't happened. I need to know about those kids!
