Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Sin City

Look how faithfully and beautifully he directed Frank Miller's 300. Sin City was an awkward mess in comparison. RR could not translate the comic book panels as fluently as Snyder did on both 300 and Watchmen. Imagine how much better it would be if directed by him.

HELL no. You've got to be a special kind of stupid to make that claim, as Sin City is panel-faithful, and that hack Snyder made 300 purely derivative of SC's style after famously keeping Miller away from production until SC became a hit.
Especially given that the recurring theme through every one of Snyder's garbage bastardizations is that he doesn't give a damn about source material and narcissistically attempts to rewrite Shakespeare, so to speak.

Y'know, as evidenced by how horrible Watchmen is and how incredibly divorced from its source it is.

Man of Steel and the sequel were below average.

Snyder would've filled it with gratuitous slow motion. I'm glad he wasn't near this movie. It's why I prefer Sin City over Watchmen.
So many stories, so little time.
