That's why I lose hope for the world.
Between the regressive left that gets hysterical over any perceived "micro-aggression" and would greatly benefit from some cognitive-behavioral therapy (

And the alt-right with their crazy conspiracy theories that make it difficult to know whether they are trolling or just plain stupid or both.
There are not that many reasonable people left, who posses enough intelligence, critical thinking and sense to not fall for the falsehoods, wishful thinking and misconceptions that come from both the Left and the Right. -

I am not ranking here who is more stupid left or right, nor say that they're both equivalently stupid. But certainly the right doesn't have monopoly on the stupidity.
For example the BLM SJWs tend to ignore the statistics suggesting that they inflate way out of proportion police violence and racism. While negating the level of violence within the black community.
Similarly the gun nuts ignore all the statistics suggesting that gun deaths are much less likely to occur in developed countries with strict gun controls than US. And as Australia showed with steep decline in guns deaths after the buy-back of the deadliest weapons, it's more than a correlation.
So both the left and the right like to ignore the inconvenient statistics and rely on the anecdotal evidence, and on the emotional reasoning: if it feels right it must be right.
As a life-long liberal I thought they are party of reason, but now if you dare to suggest anything that is contrary to the liberal dogma, you're labeled a bigot. Like that certain aspects of minorities' cultural norms could have a detrimental effect on those communities (like certain cultural norms of white poor have detrimental effects on their communities) , and it's not all the fault of the "white privilege" and racism.
At least alt-right are proud to be called anti-intellectual, whereas much of the current left while nominally valuing enlightenment and reason, propose unenlightened and unreasonable policies when they get to power like redefining what "hate speech" and "sexual assault" are and making people liable to prosecution for addressing someone with a wrong pronoun (

I'm a dem/lib as well but I think one fault of our side is the tendency to back down to easily.
you say you're not ranking who is more stupid, then you list all the things you hate about the left. you're not being honest in your evaluation of the left/right. I'm not saying the left is perfect, but FFS the right lost the plot years ago. If you made a complete list of faults. the alt right would be a much longer one. One side is in complete denial of climate change and man's effect on it. The other isn't. Checkmate. -

I may be more critical about the left because I expect more from them!
Also while the right is in denial about climate change, the left is in denial about the Islamic extremism: both pose near and future perils to the humanity.
