Bad movie???? You're damned right it's a bad movielol. My husband bought the DVD after seeing the commercial for it, since we thought the movie looked decent. How wrong we were! We sat through the whole thing, asking each other, "Uh.ok.is something exciting going to happen or what?" Shortly after, my husband gave the movie away to a friend who hadn't seen it. Hours later, he got a text message from his friend, asking 5 simple words: "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!" lol

I doesn't suck big time. There's no blown up boats or car chases, it makes u think about being in this kind of situation. So I can see why someone who can only enjoy a flick with guns and bombs wouldn't like this.
It's actually one of my top 10 favorites. -

I couldn't agree more. OPEN WATER is a terrific movie. I first saw it in a theater and bought the DVD to watch again and show to friends. Everyone I know who sees it thinks it's an amazing movieand, far scarier than JAWS.

Jesus Christ, that answer is such a cop out. O by the way the sharks that were almost the focal point of the advertising for this movie serve as the explosions and guns. I'm a dude who loves drama, I don't need battles and action to enjoy a film. This one simply doesn't have anything else going for it.

Yea sure, that thought gets old after about 20 minutes in, then there is nothing. Nothing thought provoking or impressive technically. If this movie was a short film of 15-20 minutes, MAYBE 30 minutes but that would be pushing it, then this movie would have had potential to kick serious ass.
But they went 70 minutes, and it sucked -

This movie was abysmal in every department. Very little dialogue to keep it engaging and what little dialogue was there, it was boring. No sense of pacing at all, it was shot in documentary style, felt like a handycam was used to shoot the entire film.
And the ending.what ending? There was none.
