As I recall, Melanie got a FT role on another show, so her Rose character's appearances were dialed back.

Rose was all about her relationship with Charlie. Rose had no purpose with Charlie gone. But Melanie was wonderful with Charlie. She had perfect comedic timing. I first saw her in Ever After with Drew Barrymore and didn't know she could be that funny, but I adored her as Rose.

She left for a show called "Drive" where she was one of the main characters with nathan fillion. The show was cancelled after 6 or 7 episodes but she always made guest appearances afterwards

Exactly, she left for the show "Drive", I remember some articles about it back then, luckily the show flopped and she recurred throughout the rest of the show
