My previous post made me think of this. I didn't notice if anyone else brought it up before (apologies if it has been).
Has the music used on Cold Case ever changed your mind about a particular artist or song or introduced you to a singer? in my previous example, I mentioned not liking Springsteen until the episode featuring his music.
Another song I've heard thousands of times but never "got" until CC - Broken Hearted Me by Anne Murray in The Key. I never realized just how depressing that song was until seeing it used in the final scene on one episode.
One more off the top of my head. Those Final Feet by the Cowboy Junkies in A Dollar, A Dream. Never even heard of them before. But what a good song. -

Toy Soldiers from Sleepover haunts me when I see that episode, and then it gets stuck in my head. Also, Never Surrender wasn't really a favorite song until I heard it in Offender. It brought tears. And although I wasn't really a big fan of "If I ain't got you by Alicia Keys, I think it fit well in the Badlands.
And somewhere over the rainbow was always pretty to me, but after seeing Wishing, I can't listen too it without crying. I picture Collin's face.
I had a few songs were the episode had an opposite effect. I loved Live to Tell by Madonna. I loved the message, and it was a powerful song. It was inspiring, like it was saying if we have something to teach others, we need to do it now, while we have the time. After I heard it in Churchgoing People though, I think of the murder scene, and it gets makes me feel sad, like Madonna is saying I had something to say but now it is too late. Maybe, I am thinking too much into it though. -

I couldn't even begin to give all the examples of all the times I'd go to iTunes and download an album right after an episode. Which makes me shocked that the DVD series will never come out due to song's copyrights, because it reawakens old or starts new interest in certain songs and performers.

Cold Case introduced me to "Why Does It Always Rain on Me" by Travis, "My Back Pages" by the Byrds, and "I Believe" by Frankie Lane. A song that I loved already that played but wasn't my favorite episode was "Sweeter Than You" by Ricky Nelson.

Running Around was the episode that got me into Cold Case and remains one of my very favourites. Loved Vera finding peace with the Amish.
But the kicker was Breakaway. Jakob realising it took destroying not only his body and mind with drugs but ending a life before his parents would see him and collapsing into the arms of his mother, then Vera's nod to the Amish guy and finally Shailene Woodley removing her bonnet as her sister's ghost is laid to rest just about killed me.
Times are bad. Children no longer obey their parents and everyone is writing a book- Cicero

I'm pretty new to the show since only recently I started to watch in on ion but in the beginning of the "Free Love" episode when Darling be home soon by Joe Cocker played was awesome. Great song that I never heard before the show and was used perfectly for the episode!
