J Lo as Robert Redford's daughter, is it believable that Robert Redford had a Mexican baby? Let me guess, Morgan Freeman plays her mom.
Hail to the King, baby.

there is something wrong with it unless she is adopted, she is puerto rican man
So you're saying that there's something wrong with her being married to a white man in her movies because she is Puerto Rican? That doesn't make sense to me. -

Oh man. see the movie man her race has nothing to do with it she actually does a very good job and you feel bad for her character because shes really stuck in life and doesnt try to move on.
in the movie she visits her old house in wyaoming and she states she remembers when her and her parents moved there from el paso .Maybe she was a mexican/white her mom passed away so she grew up with the southern accent and basicly the culture. And jennifer is known for taking roles that arent written for latinas
is why she is one of the highest paid she proved to hollywood that latinas were a box office draw i mean shes played characters name catherine deane, slim hiller,
Karen sisco, gertrude steiney, charlotte cantillini, mary fiore, which were all non latinas and she did it well. The race of the character has nothing to do with the movie if you cant get over such a small thing like that then dont even see the movie.
The best movie where she played a character that wasnt latina was in angel eyes her mother was a mexican and her father was white but it is so subtle that it doesnt really matter.
I can asure you if hale berry played Jean gylkinson the only thing theyd have to change is griffs actress to a black actress and it wouldnt change it. -

Your post had my full attention until you mentioned Halle Berry. So you are telling me that this 1/2 white Halle Berry would be Redford's daughter-in-law and she'd have to have a black actress cast to play her daughter? That makes no sense really. I'm sure if Halle Bery had a child with an Anglo White male the child would probably resemble an Anglo moreso than a black person considering the child would be 75% or more white.
You'd probably cast Robert Redford's granddaughter as the girl from the Bernie Mac show. -

Is it really so obvious, or is it more along the facts of it fits the story better? Or that's who you see in that role. I'm working on scripts, and there's only one character that I specified in the role his race, because some of the things he says could only be done in that race. (i.e. making fun of his own race, which is something that I do often). Maybe that's how a lot of these filmmakers start out, but then the person who best fit the role was of this race. Or maybe J.Lo's part was written for a white girl, but they changed it because she fit better. It's not about social structure or any of that bull, it's about what will make the film better. If you want to get annoyed about portrayal of race in movies, get mad at all the gang banger movies that portray blacks and hispanics as ignorant thugs who can't make it in the business world so they take to the streets with guns and drugs.

In 99% of all J.Lo films she is with a white man. now that I think of it, the producers probably just want to use J.Lo because she's a big name and then surround her with white men to get a white audience. They mostly say it is better for box office. and they are probably right.
