Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Ju-on: The Curse

    Curtis_C_Flush — 12 years ago(September 18, 2013 01:00 AM)

I have some questions about Ju-on: The Curse that I hope somebody could answer them for me. I just watched this on YouTube and had no subtitles, so I was confused with a few things.

    1. Who were the couple that enters the house in the last sequence?
    2. Who was the girl left behind at the school and why did Toshio come after her? Was she the same one that had her jaw ripped off?
    3. What was the dad holding and swinging around in the black bag?

      1. They were brother and sister. The brother was trying to sell the house.
      2. The girl left behind at school is the same one that had her jaw ripped off and Toshio came after her simply because she lived in the house. The house is cursed - anyone who goes into it falls prey to the curse. The girl is Kanna Murakami and she is the daughter of the family that later moves in.
      3. That was the former husband of Kayako and he was holding the fetus of Kobayashi's wife (Kobayashi was the teacher). He killed Kobayashi's wife and cut out her baby.
It's possible you didn't catch it, but this movie shows two stories with different sets of characters happening at two different times. The first is with Kobayashi as the main character and is in the "past," right after Kayako is murdered by her husband. The second is with the Murakami family and the brother and sister at the end, more so in the "present."

Must be hard to watch with no subtitles at all!
The poster above is totally right about point 3.
But I must add to point 1:
The are siblings indeed. The segment is called "Kyoko", that's the name of the sister. She's highly sensitive to spirits presences, that's why her brother, the real-state guy, ask her for advice, knowing part of the house's past.
        Point 2 is wrong:
The segment is called "Mizuho", when the sport teacher ask her name, she said "Tamura Mizuho". She's looking for Tsuyoshi-kun, she's probably her girlfriend. Tsuyoshi's sister, Kana, is the girl with the broken jaw, who went to look up for the rabbit.
In the segment "Kana", police officers shows the forensic doctor two pictures: one of a long haired girl (Mizuho) and one of a short haired girl (Kana). Mizuho's remains are in the autopsy's table. That's why Kana returned to her "cursed" house.
        Hope it helps!
Please excuse my terrible redaction, english is not my native language.
