so why did samual l jacksons character kill ashley judds father. i know he killed her mother because she kept sleeping with other men and cheating on his partner judds father and he also was jealous because he loved her, but why did he kill her father?

To my understanding, Jackson and Judd's father were partners.Both were cops.Judd's mum was cheating with others,and Jackson was one of them.She denied Jackson and Jackson killed Judd's mum and dad.I thought at the beginning Jackson is Judd's real father and that's why Jackson supported her to promote and be around her all the time.Jackson kills men slept with Judd because as a father Jackson thinks men uses Judd's alcoholims to sleep with her.

Crazy enough idea. The thing is, they had to explain why that Ashley is like a total "sex addict". I don't know why they make it seem like she is when the truth is that if she were a male character, no one would care. If I looked like Ahsley Judd I would be a tramp too.

So, I don't get it, did Samuel L. Jackson's character obsess over Ashley Judd's character, too, and not just her mother?
I mean, she was a 6y.o. girl when he killed her parents, and he raised her. Would he still have these feelings for her? -

Why would you
a) go onto the message board of a film you haven't seen - just read the reviews
b) open up a topic which is obviously going to tell you part of the ending.
If you had only seen the 'why did he kill her father' - you wouldn't have know who anyone was talking about, could be anyone in the film. Silly. -

i dno't remember it being suggested that Jackson did it with Judd's mom
he killed the mom because she was a cheater i think Judd's dad found out that Jackson was the killer and that was why Jackson had to kill him
