Are you supposed to make up your mind about a film by listening to critics so you'll know what to "expect" before you watch a movie? Everytime a critic says something sucks I usually end up liking it and vice versa. This movie was funny (the cooks and crew), beautiful to look at, entertaining (the relationship that grew between the 2, and Madonna in general), provoking/uncomfortable(the "rape" scene where he is trying to teach her about what kind of person he is) Moving (the ending brought me to tears) AND a great soundtrack. What makes this movie a flop? According to WHAT? Maybe not the best movie ever but it's not what the critics would have you believe.

Totally and utterly agreed. I couldn't think of anything (even Madonna's acting) that would have warranted a 3.4 rating. People should get over what everybody else's opinions of films are and just judge them for themsleves.

I don't fully subscribe to that theory like the first poster but I loved Unleashed, the directing and the acting. Revolver was too good, it was the 2001 space odyseey of our time (I can elaborate of you want) but it was critically panned. But Date movie was the dogs bollox - and I dont mean in the cockney way that means good. I mean they were the equivalent of my dog's bollox. Infact I think I could watch my dogs bollox for an hour and 30 minutes instead of Date movie.

God, I would love it if you did explain that.. because right now I'm thinking you're insulting a perfectly good movie (that being 2001: SO that's getting the insult.)
Watching Revolver was like watching Guy Ritchie sniff his own farts. -

Anyone who can't wait to see a movie with Eddie Murphy in a fat suit (your excitement is obvious from your use of an exclamation point) can't possibly have anything to say worth listening to on the subject of movies.
