would you start to feel bad when one by one the UK posters go silent as the virus spreads across the country, indicating that they are likely dead? or would you just make trolling comments if this very serious situation was unfolding live?
btw, if this happened in real life exactly the way it happens in the film ( bunch of ****** climate change people release a chimp from a lab in Cambridge university ) then I would be the first UK poster to go silent, I live very close to Cambridge, closer than any poster here I guess. -

If this happened in real life it would be a ****-show, but not to the extent the movie portrays.
It’s doubtful Britain would have to be evacuated, considering it’s pretty easy to avoid the virus with proper protection since it only transmits through bodily fluids and bites. The government would be quick to contain the outbreak, it’s doubtful any infected would make it out of the lab to begin with.
Now if the virus was airborne, like in I Am Legend, the world would indeed be ****ed.

well, you do have a point about security, if there was a real life virus in a lab that could do this to a human, it would be under constant guard i would like to think, so 3 climate change ******* could not break in how the did. The scientist in the film was terrified of it getting out, so it's not like they did not know what they are dealing with.
But if it were to break out like it did then it would not be easy contained, our security guards who work in college campus's dont have guns do not forget, nor would any of the first responding officers who will be called to deal with " people fighting ".
There were 4 people in the lab when it broke out, so lets assume they all got infected, the next person to come across this scene will have to deal with 4 infected, so they are also ****ed and now that is 5 infected…..
by the time the 2 police officers turn up ( unarmed ) there would probably be about 9 infected at least, maybe more? the officers would then be infected because they will actually try and take them down using mortal combat and that would not go well, nobody would know what they are dealing with at first and that is how it would spread, once enough people are infected then there is no going back. Our small military would be overwhelmed in the end, and we would have to hope other countries come to our aid, but as it involves a very dangerous virus I doubt there would be much they would be willing to do. -

Cronenberg’s Rabid is a better example of such an outbreak, mostly because people can hide their illness and spread it among populated areas easily, and the patient zero was spreading the plague the whole time without knowing too. Also because it shows the infected as retaining human intellect and cunning by using weapons. And also the government contains the outbreak with martial law, albeit after a pretty hefty body count. But the idea of the government and civilization collapsing is ****ing retarded.
