Sexual Tension…

I noticed the 'sexual tension' made me want to cringe, particularly at the final dance scene. I don't think it was intentional, we're probably just used to watching rom-coms. I remember watching this when it first came out and didn't notice anything, ah to be young and innocent

they definitely had great chemistry i thought it was just me but with colin who wouldn't actually i thought the scenes he had with amanda were more intense than the ones he had with jessica biel in easy virtue and he was actually supposed to be attracted to her.

Ew, now I'm never going to be able to watch this movie the same way again!
I've seen this movie numerous times, and never once have I thought about them having sexual tension. A lot of the "looks" they exchange have to do with the fact that they just met - hardly considered father and daughter since he didn't raise her - and they're just trying to jump over that hurdle. They are extremely different people - free spirited and cautious - who are trying to cope and respect the others differences. -

Too many people have way oversexualized thoughts here. Great chemistry, great acting, yes, Firth is dreamy but there is no sexual anything going on in this movie.
As someone else said, the character, Henry is probably seeing Libby in Daphne and there is the longing for what could have been. Henry and Libby were very much in love but then abruptly separated because of Alistair, Henry's advisor.
Henry and Daphne are awkwardly trying to get to know each other. Henry didn't know she existed and she shows up on his doorstep already pretty much an adult.
