Having been somewhat of a groupie in the early-mid 70's (without mentioning any names) I thought this would be an interesting film. omg. This was one of the weakest scripts and contrived situations that I have ever seen for such an established cast. Susan Sarandon's character's daughters were the best part of the film, with the younger daughter giving a stellar performance. She was hysterical. It was sad for me to watch these two actresses demeaning themselves with these performances (not entirely their fault). I felt Hawn was trying too hard and Susan was giving a redo of something I've seen before - a few times. The end was a semi-flashback to Thelma & Louise for me. I give this a barely 2 thumbs up. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, especially any rock afficinados. Not realistic at all. I was cringing throughout the entire film, waiting and hoping I was just not 'getting it' and at any minute the joke would be explained. Didn't happen. Oh well. That's not to say that any of these folks are bad actors. Geoffrey Rush did (of the adults) the best job with what he had. I guess that after having been there, this was just hokey; however, the soundtrack was good. I wonder what Patty De Barres (sp?) thought?
