Well, there are Democrats who are just slightly to the left of Republicans. Their position on the spectrum is always pushed way farther on the left side than their actual policies are. Sure, they're better, which is why I think they're worth voting for over a party that won't win, but I have a lot of issues with them. Then there are moderate leftists like myself and Bernie Sanders… social democrats, democratic socialists, etc. Then there are communists and anarchists on the far left.

I said moderate or center left, not moderate moderate. Establishment Dems are pretty close. I would even say a big chunk of Republicans are close to moderate.
Nah, and tyranny is more of a right wing thing… far right anyway. I'm not saying your run of the mill conservative is anything like a Nazi or fascist. -

Someone already argued with you on this. Nazis were only socialist in name. It's like any other kind of pandering with these tyrants… or not even tyrants. Lots of regular politicians sometimes attach themselves to certain ideologies, but then we see how they actually govern, and it doesn't match.
I am not defending pure socialism. I believe in a mixed system, so this isn't about bias. Stalinism is a form or communism that I think was about as bad as Nazism. -

Yeah, and that person made no sound arguments. The Nazis were right wing by European standards only because Europe sucks and is very far left. By American standards there was nothing right wing about them, all of their policies fall into the American left wing category, including their hatred of Jews, and them being evil Socialists.

Why the need to rewrite history? There's no need. All rational people are with you: East Bloc Communism was totalitarian, despotic, and ultimately a huge failure.
Nazism, while also totalitarian, had its roots in hypernationalist far-right groups and their philosophy, it shared aspects with communism, but it wasn't socialism.
