— 7 years ago(October 13, 2018 07:01 AM)When I get my paychecks, I first deposit the whole amount in my checking. After that goes through, I transfer some in my savings, some go toward my student loans, and then bills, utilities, groceries, and I have very little spending money leftover which is my entertainment and Starbucks and Chipotle fix.
Whatever goes into my savings, I don't touch. It's there permanently. I have never had to transfer anything out of there in years. That's there for something big, as in if I ever need a new car, or a down payment on a lake house. It's reserved. If I think I'm going to need more money, I transfer very little in there. My goal is to be in a comfortable position where I can deposit half my check in there, but lately I have a lot of debt to get down.
I end up with only $250 or so in spending money for the week, which is less than 1/4 of my weekly paycheck.
If I can't even break even bringing home consistent money every week, how the hell are people making a living not even having a job? I seriously don't get it.
I'm not disparaging anyone without a job, I'm genuinely interested in how you're making it alive and eating and have spending money to go to McDonald's or wherever you go. Where is that money coming from?
I have to make thousands to have the same life as what some people making $0, so I'm just baffled by it. I can't even break even making what I make, and yet some people are unemployed with WiFi…wtf?
I am addicted to you; I have tasted your mind, and I cannot forgo its flavor.
