(Of Band on the Wall fame*) this Doctor Who crossover character was the saviour of Coronation Street until his rock'n'roll demise for being a leery drunk who committed sexual assault on a 30-something year old woman.
This ties Corrie in with Who in with Enders and makes it uncancellable as a British treasure.
Honourable mentions go to Mickey Smith and the story A Fix with Sontarans
*A quick 5 minute walk from This & That

All I know is that Martin Platt returned for Helen Worth’s leaving storyline (after 50 years in the show no less!) and he was axed because of rumours getting started of things happening 30 years ago on set with women. So they instead brought back a completely forgotten character that was in it for two minutes (and had nothing to do with Gail first time round) played by John Tonlinson last minute. What an absolute travesty and an insult after 50 years in the role!

This is why Corrie sucks and always will do.

I will never forgive Corrie after what they did to Helen Worth after five decades of playing Gail Platt or whatever her surname is now. I don’t want it to have anything to do with the Trinity.

Yes she was wasn’t she, I’ve seen that. A pre Corrie role as one of the colonists. It was fun to see.

You know they have included A Fix for Sontarans as an extra on one of the Blu-Ray box sets only without the Jimmy Savile bits. It’s actually quite a solid little adventure! You are missing bits though such as Jimmy Savile appearing on the TARDIS screen going ‘are we having a nice time then in space with Doctor Who nnyyeeehhh?’.

Hang on a second…Bruno Langley in Doctor Who, I remember him! The Doctor didn’t want him to tag along but Rose insisted he come. Anyway turns out that the Doctor was right because as soon as they got to the space base he was off trying to molest the women of the future knowing full well that there would be no repercussions for him in the past. Anyway one of the women tricked him and managed to get a bionic eye installed in him whilst he slept which revealed itself with a click of the fingers. Hell hath no fury like a future woman scorned!
Anyway the Doctor never wanted him to come along in the first place so that just shows that he knew he was a wrong un right from word off!

And the woman who put that bionic eye thingy into him was none other than Tamsin Greig, who use to work with Michelle Gomez in The Green Wing Bobby
Ergo it's all tied back in and making the whole lot canon

Afterwards fans on IMDb were speculating (as they so often do) over the possibility of him being a young Davros. I’m very grateful that Russell never listens to fans…could you just imagine Bruno Langley of all people as Davros!!

Now that Davros can walk Bobby, I actually can
Sexual assault is much easier when you can stand up and use your hips and that was all an RTD idea because disabled people can't be bad people
Never mind all the evidence contrary to that pithy belief

I thought that Russell decided that when he came across a video online of Tharries asking why the TARDIS didn’t have wheelchair access. He saw Tharries as one who embodies all of the good and the pure in Whodom and then felt awful for his role in the creation of Davros.
Also I have a new Woolworths related thread up. It’s not a very good one. In fact it’s quite embarrassing really.

RTD didn't create Davros though Bobby
He 'fixed' him by making him walk.
Think about what type of message that actually sends out to people in wheelchairs
Yup I had a look at the Woolies thing. I was hoping that it would be an interactive thing using Java or something but it's a video. It's not awful but it's wholly inaccurate and that's what makes it seem more genuine
Remember when I
️ the X was on just before the Millennium and they'd have people like her from Hollyoaks banging on about Space Hoppers
She wasn't even born when they were popular!
And then you've got people who should know better. Here's Adam Ant talking about Magnum PI in 1981 wven though it never hit British shores until a year later and had a different opening tune to it
The good old days back when memory holing didn't feel quite so nasty and vulgar

Yes this is why I put the Woolworths video up. Just imagine what grand stuff could be done by proper archivists who CARE! An authentic look around a Woolworths of 1992 for example, not just some boring old ‘hey who remembers Tamigotchi’s?!’.

These programs you mention were funny. People would be talking about things that you can still get now such as Big Macs as though they were much missed items of the past!

This was doing the rounds a few years back:
And caused quite the who-ha about whether or not it was genuine.
5 gears. 1972?
I mean it was possible, but not common enough that most people
who had cars
had a car with more than 3 or 4 gears in it
People like to hear what they like to hear Bobby. It's always been the way and always will be

Yeah but what these archivists and Coal Supper will be doing won’t be for the common man. It will be for people who are deeply interested in UK popular culture in history like us.

Coal Supper are MUCH MORE likely to make a gag like the fifth gear/fifth pint one Bobby than stick to historic accuracy

Well then Coal Supper need to PACK THAT IN!! I want them involved with creating historical accuracy from now on. A new type of nostalgia I like to think of as ‘nostalgia for the thinking man’.
By I would have Coal Supper chained up and working on this type of thing from now till day death if I could get away with it!

You could make it yourself Bobby
You just need to know how to create OBJ files and then texture them appropriately.
Put that together in a virtual environment and then find sounds to enhance it.
You have a positive audio/visual world which is tweaked exactly to your needs and can be altered should you ever feel the need to
Leave Coal Supper to their suet puddings

No no no no NO!!! I am NOT a technological whizz kid! I do not know the first think about doing any of this or even where I would begin! Let alone doing it with any sort of finesse!!
I challenge you!!! Show me how easy it is! Do a Spar shop from 1986! Go on!! Spar shops are smaller so shouldn’t be difficult. Spar shop 1986 GO!!!
