I was watching the movie for the first time and even though I liked the fact that the low-budget actors/cameras add to the creepiness, the movie might be better with a larger budget and stronger direction.
I couldn't help but think about seeing James Wan's take on this movie, I'm a big fan of his camerawork, the production would look a whole lot different. The premise and the location is also a perfect setup for interesting cinematography.
I still liked the movie a lot, just a thought here Maybe we're going to see a remake by a different director in 10-20 years, I wouldn't be surprised, this is a great concept! -

While the story and acting are great, the real star of Session 9 is Danvers itself. While I do admire Wan's work,I do not feel Session 9 should ever be remade.I do not believe in remakes of classics especially brilliant ones.If a really terrifying sequel could be written somehow that might be possible. But no remakes. It is already perfection

Remaking this movie would be sillier than most of the remakes out there. And how would a ham-fisted clod like James Wan (and I DO enjoy many of his movies, but he is blunt and violent) possibly have the subtlety this film has?
It's fifteen years old and people still argue about what the movie means. And you want the man who brought you
Saw
and
Death Sentence
to approach this?
Yeah, no.
