I know Brittany Murphy's character was faking it, but I'm just wondering, can you really have PTSD that badly after seeing your dad die?

I think the PTSD thing was ok, but what was implausible for sure was 20 different hospitals and all doctors fooled by this teenager, except Nathan Conrad. He figured her out in a snap. Was he a kind of genius or all other doctors were just dumb stupid people.

But the thing is, Dr. Conrad is specially qualified with teens. And he was more involved, he had more invested in the case, so he would notice things other doctors wouldn't. Plus, she screwed up when he was with her, where as she might not have with any other doctors.
You'd be surprised the things you notice when your daughter's life is on the line. Not that I would personally now, but it's not hard to imagine.

Oh yes, you can DEFINITELY have PTSD that badly over something like that. I have degrees in psych and social work, so I know this.
