A semi-serious second level of interpretation

I refuse to believe this film to be as shallow as it seems. So I venture into a non-standard interpretation.
The message is not the obvious moralistic one (bad cheater guy welcomed back by his angel wife). What I like to see here is a cry of horror at how a handsome smart guy may let his life be screwed up between two ugly, selfish hags, full of hatred and ready to spread legs for kids the age of their own.
That cop earned his place in heaven for just having to bear that horrid psychopathic crying smile on his wife's face every single day. He was so embarrassed and frustrated for pointlessly apologizing to his casual mistress that he almost killed the guy he arrested to release the tension.
It's a wake up call, guys!, your sense of guilt will just bring sadness and damnation. Political correctness led to extremes, masculine feminism used as means of self-punishment and emasculation are much worse than wrong: they're ridiculous.
She's proud of her wrinkles? WTF?? Should a man be proud of his couple dozen pounds of belly fat and stop working out? Give us a break. Should men feel sorry or guilty for suffering a slower decline in sexiness than women? What you have to overpay at 15 you might get back at 51.
What's more, women get pissed off at conceited guys, but typically get laid by them.
Yes I'm ranting because I'm disappointed by a movie which was given out to be a deep and insightful one, and is not.
