Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Wishmaster 4: The Prophecy Fulfilled

I thought it was interesting that the djinn in this one (presumably having learned a bit) , went with a new strategy by choosing not to reveal himself at all, but trick the waker into making the wishes. Only in the first 2 movies did the djinn have to take souls to fix/charge the stone first, and in all first 3 movies the waker recieved psychic visions of the djinn's victims, but in this movie that did not happen.
So was it part of the djinn's wish-granting powers to force the waker to see each death happen , or was it kind of an error in this film for the waker to not have visions ?

It was an error. In all the previous movies the visions of death are seen by the waker, whether or not they are relevant to them or the Djinn even needs them to. There were many errors and contradictions in this movie, and in the end it was basically dumbed down; the Djinn never even tries to manipulate anybody else but the waker. And when he does kill, it seems totally pointless and just for a good laugh.
