What episodes can I happily skip?

I'm near the start of season 2 (planning on finishing all 4 seasons). Some of the episodes like "Taking the Stone" and "Vitas Mortis" felt like a waste of time to me and I don't want to bother with that kind of stuff. It's hard to define why an episode feels pointless but I guess it's stuff that's not linked to the main plot, has poor dialogue/character development/setting.

Out of season 2, Look at the Princess, Crackers Don't Matter, The Way We Weren't, Won't Get Fooled Again, and the finale are probably the most important to the arcs. Other than that, it's mostly made up of decent-to-very good standalone episodes, like Home on the Remains, Out of Their Minds (Skeksis cameo! Yay!), Dream A Little Dream, and especially A Clockwork Nebari.

I would skip Different Destinations when you get to it. It's not that it's a bad episode, as such, it's just that the ending is such a downer. I know, you can't always have a "happy ending", but this one struck me asI dunno, painful to watch each time I see it. I would ask what the point is, but Aeryn says at the end of the episode, "Maybe there was no point".

Well, it is the Season of Death.
I can think of other episodes that felt like just as much of a downer, but that's subjective.

Maybe so, but those at least seemed to have a point to them. The ending of Different Destinations just seemed to contrived for the purposes of the episode NOT having a "happy ending" or whatever. But as you say, it's subjective. -

I would agree on skipping Dream a little Dream or Home on the remains because they are good episodes but don't add much to the plot. Clockwork Nebari though is awesome and one of my favorite episodes from season 2. Seeing what happens when the Nebari try to mind cleanse the crew is awesome. I love how Crichton is acting and the fact that he is forced to work with Rygel to stop them.

To me, they're character pieces (much like how "The Choice" was for Aeryn in Season 3). Plus, I think skipping "Taking the Stone" will make some confused about "A Clockwork Nebari" (since the establishing of Chiana's brother Neri and how she knew he was dead was done in TTS). But that's just my opinion, of course. I could very well be wrong.

But this one's eating my popcorn! -

I found season two to be a bit tedious. I really enjoyed the first season and the third and I'm working my way through the fourth currently again and all good so far
I dont remember the name of the episode, but the flashback one on the planet of lawyers is the only one I couldn't physically make it all the way through. Although when I inevitably re-watch the entire thing again there will be a couple I might miss out..Taking the Stone I very much agree with.
So say we all -

Yeah the lawyer one might be the second worst ever
I kinda liked the fact that it made the two most "non plan-makin'" characters MAKE A PLAN. At that point - Chiana is still a wild card. Could you imagine being in a life and death situation. and your only hope of rescue is in the hands of on an oversexed kleptomaniac punk college Freshman (more or less)that you know in your heart is going to go all-in and then some Hijinks ensue. -

Not every episode is a jem but I agree, the Taking the Stone episode is particularly bad. Perhaps it's because it had so much Chianna in itfor me, that character is alright in small doses but an entire episode revolving around her was too much.
