Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Family Guy

I can't remember for sure but I think I saw the first episode the night it premiered. FOX had a pretty good line-up back then. The Simpsons, King of the Hill, Futurama, The PJs, and Family Guy.
The show was a lot different back then than it is now though

Personally, I think it was a lot better back then. It was less random and had more of an overall story about how Peter was trying to be a Family Guy.
The cutaways were still random, but the episode didn't really rely on them to sell the jokes.

I'm the same, I can't imagine I would have watched a show after the Super Bowl but I must have since I was a fan from the start.

I remember seeing the episode where licking toads was considered doing drugs when I was little. I had seen a quite a few episodes when I was little.

I loved the show since it began. It sure has changed over the last 17 years but I still love it regardless. I have no regrets.

I watched it air right after the Super Bowl, well after The Simpsons Super Bowl episode.

Me too. I saw it debut when I was 13 years of age.
