CHILDREN OF THE CORN 666: ISAACS RETURN
(DIMENSION)
Like it or not, its time to wring a few more bucks out of this limp franchise. At least this unnecessary outing has the good sense to link directly to the originals story, and in the most amusing bit of casting, John Franklin, who played evil Isaac in the 1984 flick, reprises his kid-weirdo role (in addition to writing the screenplay with Tim Sulka). Best known for playing Cousin Itt in the
Addams Family
movies, Franklin resembles a hung-over Dudley Moore, except shorter and considerably less frightening. Natalie Ramsey co-stars as teenaged Hannah, who returns to her farm-town birthplace of Gatlin to search for her long-lost mother, but instead endures continual cheap-scare hallucinations and a pathetic roster of loony locals. Meanwhile, Isaac has been in a coma since the first massacre, and when he suddenly awakens, he goes after the Children of the Children (played by actors so interchangeable that you wonder if Dimension has invested in cloning). Director Kari Skogland seems to be betting that quick cuts and odd camera angles can turn a dull, inept script into something halfway watchable. No such luck, and the Doc was checking his watch every 10 minutes (with a film this mercifully brief, that was only eight times). Theres a touch of gore but no larger FX, and for recognizable star power, Nancy Allen earns top billing as a survivor of the old cult, while Stacy Keach is a nutty local physician. Continually promising a Big Finale (the prophecy, the harvest, etc.), the story delivers little, ultimately transforming He Who Walks Behind the Rows into just another power-mad, invulnerable psychopath. And youd have to be even slower than the dim-witted characters to not figure out the climaxs surprises early on. Arguably the lamest of the
Corn
outings (of course, thats like deciding which piece of roadkill is the stinkiest), this film leaves so many plot strands dangling that its obvious this entry is only the groundwork for a larger future scenario. I pray Im wrong.

i think its a great sequel to cotc 1. this and cotc 2 are the only ones that connect with the 1st one. they had charactors from the 1st one and the plot stays connected.
in the 2nd film you have the kids that were from the first film.
and this one you have isaac and my favourite charactor rachel back from the first film. along with cora jake and the doctor who were too .
to me the film answerd a few questions on what we wanted to know. aswell did number 2. the other films went off somewhere else and had nothing to do with 1 2 and 6 and were quite silly.
i always pretend number 6 is the 3rd film.
