Especially Lester when he's first interacting with Angela. When I first saw the movie I thought it was so deep and amazing, and it still is, but watching it now as an early 30's guy I have a whole new perspective on it. But the main thing I'm noticing is the humour.. is anyone else surprised by the humour in the movie?

No, not at all surprised. E.g. consider also the scene where Lester busts his wife with the other guy at the drive-through window. Or how Lester threatens the boss to insure that he gets his severance package. Or the scene where Lester and Ricky first smoke pot together outside the building. Or when Lester goes into his daughter's room to dial Angela's phone and has to scurry back when he hears her getting out of the shower. Or the look on Lester's face when Angela asks if he has been working out.
Lots of funny stuff in there. In many respects the movie is more of a dark comedy than anything else.

Kevin Spacey is just great at sarcasm. It's one of his trademarks. He's an incredibly funny man.

I didn't find the comedy subtle at all, I found parts of it hilarious when I first watched it many years ago.

I watched this movie for the first time a month or so ago and I laughed so hard at certain parts.
