I didn't like the first film. But I adored this one. The casting was much better. I mean, Stephen Baldwin sounded like Barney. Alan Cumming was my favorite part in the film. He was perfect for Gazoo. Not to mention, Gazoo is my favorite character. They Just all sounded and acted more like the characters from the cartoon than in the first film. Gazoo needed to appear more in the 1st.

The first film was much better; Goodman and Moranis were excellent casting choices for Fred and Barney (only one I thought was bad was Rosie O'Donnell as Betty, so that's a plus I'll give this one). As a whole though, I thought this film was just not that good, and the character of Gazoo was just annoying.
The first film wasn't perfect, but I'll take it over this film any time.

I always found the first film to be boring and forgettable. As a kid, I could never get through it. This one, while not a "good" film, is at least more entertaining. It's definitely a guilty pleasure of mine.
