I don't get the bag of clothesDoesn't make sense to me
Okay..So I understand that Colonel Moore helps Elizabeth to recreate the rape scene by stripping her, tying her up, and then stashing her clothes in that black garbage bag on top of the roof
BUT what was the plan after thatWas it just assumed that the General(her Dad), once he drove up and saw her there, would untie her and then she would retrieve her clothes from the rooftop, put them back on, and go merrily back to her home or wherever?
This makes no sense to me at all! Seems very poorly planned out! Leaving her naked and tied up by herself like that Geeezzz.
But thinking about itThe General DID send his right hand man (Fowler) to help her soon after he saw her tied there and nakedThe problem is Kent had already found her and killed her.
Still I wouldn't have thought that Colonel Moore would have left her alone like that and so defenseless. You would have thought he would have hidden somewhere to make sure that she was protected in case something happened..I guess Elizabeth had made the Colonel leave her there so she could have privacy in her interaction with her Dad once he showed up
Maybe I answered my own question
Really under-rated movieI now think that a lot of the questions like this were answered, but in a subtle psychological way throughout the movie -

never gave a thought to that pointtill I read your thread.you may have a pointI think she wanted to re-create it as real and accurate as she could.and Yes, Moore must have hidden the bag at the roof, so that when her Father saw her like that and doesnt see her clothes anywhere around maybe would have added the effect that she wanted him to have.
She definitely was counting her Dad to see and realize what she went through.but I guess the SOB was really a SOB. -

That's what I thought, too. She wanted to shock him, and had her clothes stashed so he couldn't cover her up. She wanted him to see her that way.
The big question to me was where was Moore? You'd think that he'd have been somewhere nearby, lurking in the shadows to keep an eye on her in case something happened (like Kent murdering her). To just leave her tied up and helpless, even if that's what she asked for, seemed pretty stupid on his part. If it were me, even if I were willing to help with such a thing, I'd still be somewhere nearby, watching, just in case she changed her mind or needed help with something else she hadn't planned on. Hell, a snake could have crawled up; it's Georgia in the summer, after all, and they're plentiful there.
Here's to the health of Cardinal Puff.
