This movie is pretty powerful, and tells you what a state the armed forces are in.
At the end it came up with some footnotes, and normally these are put when it is a true account.

Maybe it was an extreme composite with great dramatic license of all the sexual assault cases that are reported on military academies and with active duty personel.

I came on-line just to find out this question. Is it true or memorex?
Frankly speaking, tghe only reason I went to see this movie in the theater when it first came out was because of the return of Madeline Stowe, who had taken a hiatus from movie making. Great looking gal, pretty good actress when given a good part, etc. To think of this ending, where they want to make you think its a true story, well, I find it completely disingenious; typical for such crummy movie.
Over-acting reigned supreme in this movie. Including Travolta and Stowe. -
