Of course everyone won't like her as much as Alyson - we were used to her as Loonette - she IS Loonette.
I'm not sure why they chose to have a new Loonette - why they didn't just create a new character - like they did on Blue's Clues - Loonette's cousin could have come to stay with Molly or something.
I don't think she's terrible - just new and not familiar.
At least she can sing a little better.

I agree. The new Loonette doesn't quite have it down yet-she seems like she's trying to "force" the character as opposed to Alyson's natural comfort with it. But she is new and just needs to keep at it. Give her a chance.

It's not the singing level that makes my kids love the show It was the feeling. And this new Loonette just gives off a weird feelingand her voice annoys me Kind of whiny.
I'm not one for changing the channel just becuse they changed an actor/ess but if I can't stand the new actor/ess then the channel changes.
She's not terrible nd I'm sure she'll do a fine job with her role on the show, but my kids won't be the ones watching her.

She might be better if she took acting lessons.

The main problem is that the new Loonette acts like she's metally retarded, literally. It's like she's doing a Goofy impersonation or something. (I keep waiting to hear 'Hyuk, Hyuk!')
The old Loonette could act like a child, but without acting stupid and dopey.

I agree with everyone here. I'm watching the big comfy couch as I type this and the Loonette I see is not the bright and bubbly Loonette that I'm use to seeing. The new loonette just seems to dull or theres not enough "spring" in her voice and posture. Lets just say that if the other Loonette were on right now I wouldn't be typing this; but now that I see the new loonette I can't pay attention to the show. But then again I love those dust bunnies.

Yah we should give her a chance.I mean how would you feel if you were replacing the main character in a popular kids program?Everyone wouldnt like you because they are not used to you.Cause you were new. They would do that to me if I was a new loonette. So guys dont make fun of her.Get used to her or PAY THE CONSEQUENCES.tehe..jokes just dont be hatin be respectin.

Since my daughter is just about to turn two we just started watching the Big Comfy Couch (or Cow as my daughter calls it) a few months ago. It is her favorite show and all we had seen until a few weeks ago was the "new" Loonette. I believe that people's preferences probably derive from what they are used to. My daughter will not watch the "old" Loonette, and my husband and I find her creepy and she seems to be really mean to Molly in the episodes that we have found. We love Ramona and Loonette and so does our 22 month old, it's all she wants to watch, althought now that PBS had made the stupid descision to stop showing it at 10 am in our area I will have to buy the DVD's and wear out our four episodes on the DVR. Anyway my point is both actresses do their best and for those who like the old Loonette thank goodnes they had so many seasons with her, because a lot of local cable channels (like college channels) have them on everyday.

I was shocked to hear they replaced Alyson Court! Hell, I didn't even think BCC was on anymore. Was there any reason Alyson Court was replaced? Did she quit, or did they just get rid of her because she was getting too old?
I heard Loonette is now able to go to Clown Town, which she always wanted to do in earlier seasons. This is true? Do she and Molly go in every episode, or just in a few?

I didn't know they had new episodes until the other day and I saw 2007. The new actress is fine. Frankly I would be surprised if the old Loonette was still on the show. The show would of been around for 14 years if it played straight through. It is a rare show that stays on that long. Even Patrick Duffy had to take a break from Dallas.
The new actress has big shoes to fill(I had to say that). But the original Loonette IMO needed to leave and move on to other projects. How good could it have been for her career to have a role on a children show for over 10 years that her face was covered with clown makeup? I would not even know her without it. It is not like she is Mr Rogers whose show was built arnd him and named after him. This show is built around a doll named Molly. Now they better watch out if they change her, lol
