i love horror movies from the early 80's .. seen almost all of them .. i'm very forgiving when it comes to these movies but two i just couldn't get into at all were this and Don't Go In The Woods which one is worse in your opinion

I'd have to say this movie, mainly because it's a lot more boring than DGITW. Overall, this film isn't TOO bad. It has its moments and looks very surreal, which I love. DGITW is worse quality in my opinion, but much more entertaining, many more laughs, and a lot more murders. I couldn't stop laughing through the entire film, so that is probably why I enjoy it more.

Don't Go in the Woods was supremely bad, but it was at least a little more entertaining than The Forest. I've seen a lot of bad slashers, but this is among the worst - at least for the time period. It has almost nothing going for it. It looks like a PSA and the score sounds like it's from a rejected 70s sitcom pilot. The flashback sequence where the hermit has an epic multi-stage battle with the repairman that was banging his wife was unintentionally hilarious, but the rest of the film is just excruciatingly dull and terrible.
