Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Maury

I'm only slightly embarrassed to admit that I used to kind of enjoy watching this show with its wacky paternity tests and Sexy Decoys
, but I really think I'm about done. I can't stand all the screaming anymore. All guests shout through their pre-taped interview and then shriek (women) or bellow (men) themselves hoarse once on stage. I don't know how Maury can stand the earsplitting, repetitious noise. He must wear ear plugs.

Don't forget the hoodrats who clap with every single word as if they're trying to figure out how many syllables are in a sentence. Literally, "he (clap) don't (clap) take (clap) care (clap) of (clap) his (baby)!!" Ok, we get it, you like to smack your hands together. It doesn't make your point any more valid. Crazy AF.

LMAO! Gotta love those. Not to mention the ones who think repeating the same word or statement 10 times in a row makes for a brilliant retort. <Hand up> Whatever. Whatever. Whatever. Whatever. Whatever. Whatever. Whatever. Whatever. Whatever. Whatever.

            Oh yeah, you said it!!
The way some of the guests yell and shriek, their vocal cords will be shredded by age 30.
What is with the hand-striking-hand thing? I have only noticed that recently!
Another phrase they scream over and over "It's your baby! It's your baby!"
If you have a boyfriend or girlfriend, don't introduce them to your cousin. The rate of cheating with cousins is astronomical on this show.
Also, in my opinion, if someone is still seeing their "ex" and sleeping with them, even if they have a new significant other, that isn't an ex. There should be another word for it, because it isn't "ex".

I'm always more amazed at the audience. In the shots of the audiences have a noisy reaction, there's always some who are standing and not just making a noise or saying a word, they're actually telling off the person they're mad at, going off on a rant as if anyone can hear them. It's like they think Maury is going to stop the show and say, "The person up there in the third row, what was that you said?"
