Bewitched and Titanic actor Bernard Fox dead at 89
Television and movie actor Bernard Fox has died, according ABC 7. He was 89.
The popular television funny man died at Valley Presbyterian Hospital in Van Nuys of heart failure, Broadway World reported.
Fox was best known for playing Dr. Bombay, a womanizing warlock, on Bewitched from 1966 to 1972. He also famously appeared as Captain Winston Havlock in the 1999 flick, The Mummy and in Titantic as Col. Archibald Gracie.
The Welsh actor, who retired from the spotlight in 2004, also played the bumbling Col. Crittendon on Hogans Heroes through the late 60s and lent his voice to the Disney movie The Rescuers and its sequel, The Rescuers Down Under.
Fox, the son of Queenie and Gerald Lawson, both of whom were stage actors, comes from a long line of performers.
He began his acting career as a young child, but put his goals on hold for a stint in the Royal Navy, resuming his career in the entertainment industry after the end of World War II. He has garnered well over 100 television and film credits over the course of his career.
He leaves behind two children and his wife Jacqueline, who he married in 1961.

RIP. Loved him in Hogan's Heroes and the Mummy. He also played the lookout in the 1958 Titanic film 'A Night To Remember' as well as James Cameron's version. One of my favourite actors. Every scene he did was wonderful.

I'm sorry to hear about Bernard Fox. I loved him in The Longest Day and Twelve O'Clock High (he was a guest star in at least 3 episodes). My condolences to his family.

            What a shame.
Let's not forget his role in the original, A Night to Remember.

I saw A Night To Remember a very long time ago but I don't recall seeing him. What was the name of his character?

I'm sorry to hear that he died. He was a good actor. My favorite role that he played was Dr. Bombay on Bewitched. I'm glad that he lived a long life.
