I wouldn't go that far but it was entertaining and I dug it.

I agree. It's really good. Compare it to other B movies. I watched 'Next Day Air' and 'Angel of Death' this weekend. Both no comparison to Caught Up which I actually saw in the theatre.

It's definitely a cult classic. One of the best B-movies I've ever seen. Woodbine was good and I LOVED Clifton Powell's over the top performance as Herbert haha.
            Good stuff.

No, it is not. A cult classic, in the traditional sense, is a film that has a strong following with a specific audience.

what makes you pick those 2 movies? just the worst ones you can think of? maybe theres other B movies that are much better than Caught Up.

I remember seeing this way back in the day and I just caught it on some obscure cable channel at midnight. I remember always quoting this movie (especially the Caribbean dudes) to my friends and they had no clue because hardly anyone has seen it. (drop vs droppa, his mass-ave toooool, and the way he said Daryl Allan)
It is certainly a cult classic in that the first time you watch it, you'll probably be entertained by the twists, especially if you like that noir narration. Watching it today, I had to laugh at the 90's slang though. Definitely took me back. Bokeem is not the best leading man, but I'd at least recommend it to someone who likes the genre (noir meets 90s urban culture).
Oh, and great little cameo by Snoop! Definitely a glimmer of his talent and things to come with him.
