    I just watched the film and I don't get what Quilty was about at the end. He was never quite in his right mind so I'm assuming by the time Humbert got to him, Quilty had gone completely insane?

      Oh, he was definitely under the influence. Drugs, alcohol, I assume all of it. It was a very weird, surreal scene, which was of course the intention of Adrian Lyne.
