Also a huge Tarantino fan and this is my favorite film of his. Watched all of his film many times (except Hateful 8, only seen in 70mm so far) but this is a desert island movie for me. I've watched and can watch over and over and over again.
Consider watching this on again. -

I'm a fan of Tarantino, and I've seen each of his movies more than once each, but I've never had a desire to see this one again. I was just bored the entire movie. It's got all the Tarantinoisms, but it's justmeh.

This is pretty much how I feel about Kill Bill 2 followed by Inglorious Basterds. I've only seen them once back when they came out, so I should probably watch them again.

. I've never heard a convincing argument. Even the OP here has said the movie is "justmeh."
Anyway, I think it's a fantastic film. Best performances of Grier's, Forster's and Jackson's career. Why there were no actor Oscars flying around for that film, I'll never understand. De Niro's take on Louis Gara was another dynamite performance. It was the first time I remember De Niro playing someone who wasn't a badass. He was a total dufus in this movie, which you never see coming from an actor like him. And though the role was small, I thought this was one of Michael Keaton's better performances too. Tarantino really got some good stuff out of his actors with this one.
It's a great nod to blaxplotation cinema of yesteryear, which, personally, I LOVE. I saw Coffy and Friday Foster and Shaft and Foxy Brown. I got what Quentin was trying to do. I dug the vibe. I nearly fell over when I realized that Sid Haig was the judge.
Anyway, great movie on multiple levels, and easily the best soundtrack in movie history.

Bottom line this movie cursed because it followed the phenomenon which was "Pulp Fiction". It's personally one of my favorite QT joints. I think it's also the fact that it had more of an urban appeal that turned off a lot of ppl at the time. And it's not over the top violent or gory (only 4 total deaths if I remember correctly).
