I remember when I first saw this movie when it was released, Jackie narrates over the ending after Marty is shot, saying Leslie hightailed it out of there and they buried Marty next to her father or something along those lines. I watched the movie on Netflix a while ago and noticed that narration was removed, and I just watched it via Showtime the other night and noticed it was also removed from their version.
Anyone know why the ending narration was removed from these newer versions of the movie? Did "they" want to make the ending more ambiguous to what had happened? Like whether Marty had died and whether Mr. Pascal was buried in the yard, it was unreliable narrative anyway, but I could see it having been tacked originally in post to make things clearer for the audience and make it more audience friendly, and now edited out to more like the author or director's original intent?
