Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — G.I. Jane

    movie80 — 10 years ago(July 20, 2015 03:59 PM)

I usually like Demi, not so so much to say I am a fan, but I like her and always think she was in G.I Jane/still is very beautiful.
I watched this movie 5, 6 years ago and I remember after that I went to the General board to ask what movie had the song Mama Told Me of Three Dog Night (by then I forgot it was G.I. Jane), was it Jarhead or what, and most people answered 'Domino" or "Boogie Nights" but I replied that those movies were not war movies whereas I remembered it was a war movie.
Now I just watched G.I. Jane again and yes it was the song in this movie that I was asking about.
I prefer this version (not sure which year) than the original one (when the band was younger)
After this movie I like Demi a lot more. The movie must have been a tough task for her.
Not sure Demi was in the waterboard scene or a stunt double, but if she was, that was very cool of her. The push up scenes then clearly were Demi's. Ridley Scott chose Demi for this movie, that is very cool.
I remember reading about the Sony hack's emails where Angelina Jolie doubted Ridley Scott's skill (not verbatim; talking about the tentative movie Cleopatra). Well, AJ's character had a lot of, or everything, CGI things in Salt like jumping from a bridge to a moving car if I remember correctly, but here Demi did a real and really tough and cool job playing O'Neil.
