The whole Rahad Jackson scene has about 20 great moments just by itself.

When it ended. The movie sucked. Highly overrated and a total waste of time. PTA knows how to take interesting subject-matter, and amazing camera shots, while somehow draining the film of richness. I think PTA should've went more for drama than comedy since as a comedy it's only remotely funny and since, it seems, he wants us to empathize with these characters. It's hard to put my finger on since I think the acting was pretty good all around. I did not like "Magnolia" either. Same camerawork and an attempt to tie together multiple storylines but lacking impact.
One example of how "Boogie Nights" fails is Little Bill catches his wife fcking another guy, twice, and does nothing about it. This is utterly humiliating. He did nothing about it. The second time, it's purely comical because we know Bill is a chump. The third time he catches her it concludes with a murder of his wife, her fck buddy, and suicide. However, the scene is robbed of any impact. We don't care. We don't care about Little Bill, his wife, or the guy she's screwing. Bill's character isn't developed enough outside of this for us to care about him. And yet, it seems like PTA expects us to. -

It's hard to pick a part of this movie I DON'T like.
- The entire Angels Live in My Town sequence, especially the opening credits. Where the F-CK is Ringo?!?
- Jack, you want me to use the Spanish accent?
- Napoleon in the Roman Empire. It's just history repeating itself.

The part where Dirk and Reed think they are such hot **** with their music but they turn out to be really, really bad.
So bad, it is funny!
