I agree. Laura's an underrated performer.
Catching up on some episodes recently, I got the feeling she had a good training as a young actress. There are some things about her acting style that are so on the mark. She seems more like a dramatic actress who was able to stretch herself in comedy. Though she's not a comedienne per se, she succeeded on this show.
She's also very good in Sex Lies & Videotape.

It was good fun - and one of the very few Americans sitcoms I've found watchable. Laura San Giacomo has always been a favourite and with Wendie Mallick + Enrico Colantoni added to the mix it worked.
I have always depended on the kindness of Strangers - and the bastards let me down!
