What a poorly written moron of a character.
He either takes his dates to a bar or seemingly to the middle of nowhere in the forest. Then after knowing them a day or two, with no chemistry, promptly asks them to marry him.
As soon as the new girl is in town, we get not one, but two closeups of him checking out the new blood.
He had serial killer written all over him.
    Creep level 10,000.

      What? Are you being facetious?

Not being facetious at all. I find the entire character to be shown in a creep way. I'm not sure if it was the actor, the editing, the director, the script or what. But I found him to be undeveloped and shown and framed in a very strange way.

I felt the same way about most of the characters. They all behaved in such an odd, disjointed way. None of the reactions, motivations, or behaviors seemed to make much sense. It's weird, because the performances are really great. Maybe it's the editing.

LOL! I think he was just desperate. The "pickings" seemed to be slim to none in Gilead and thereabouts.

From what I recall about production was a large portion of his relationship with Percy was cut from the film, so a lot of the budding romance was not seen.
