Sidney
Cute, kick-ass, and sympathetic. Sidney, I think, is a very likable protagonist, and I liked her relationship with Derek. Too bad he got the shaft. I liked a good few characters
Randy
Hallie
Judy
Derek
Kirby is pretty cool
Kincaid was solid
Tyson
Tom
I may be hated here, but least favorite is Gale. I don't see anything likable about her. Her bitchiness and unsympathetic cold-heartedness is a huge turn-off. No offense to Courtney Cox. I just don't like the character. But I guess that's good. means Courtney played her role well. If an actor manages to draw out love or hatred for a character, they played it well. Means they left an impression. However, Gale was somewhat likable in 3. -

Stu then Randy. They were STUPID to kill Stu in the first film. That Shaggy from Scooby Doo hippy quality he brings should have been a cornerstone of the entire series with the villain more or less saying 'and I would have got away with it and all if it hadn't have been for you pesky kids!' Instead, they bring back nearly none of the great comedy of the 1st in favour of school play clever clever metafiction. It's OK but a spark has already gone. Sidney is a dull character to hang a film around - they need great , younger, goofy talent. Scream 3 and 4 went further in to metafiction - we get it- and Gale and Dewy should never be more than bit part players. Give us far cleverer death scenes and comic talent instead of bone dry exposition.

If we're talking favourite character throughout the whole series of movies, then I think mine is Dewey. I like his back and forth with Gale across the 4 films and when I look back I was most happiest to see him still alive at the end of scream 2. I like the theme that plays when he comes into the movies and I think David Arquette did a really good job in the role.
I also really liked Stu, thought he was hilarious in the first film. Sidney of course. And a special shout out to Mrs Loomis. I know she barely counts, but I enjoyed it when Laurie Metcalf was on screen in the second movie.
Now that I have my coffee, I'm ready to watch radar
