Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Lawnmower Man 2: Beyond Cyberspace

I'm just trying to find out why Jeff Fahey was replaced. I was very young when this came out so as far as I knew, I thought Matt Frewer was always Jobe. I never saw the trailer for the first one, only the second.
Don't know if this will ever get answered since most people hate this movie

I've seen this movie a couple of times, and the same question lingers on my mind.
I like to think that this movie is not related in any way to the first one and that the creators chose to name it "The Lawnmower Man 2" and put a couple of references to the first one, in a half-assed effort to tie them both together.
For me, this movie is not a worthy sequel to the original. If they ever make a third Lawnmower Man movie, they should bring back the cast from the first movie.

Why on earth would you have watched this film a couple of times? I've seen it once and I knew I should have listened to all the terrible reviews and ratings

He probably turned down the role. I know Pierce Brosnan turned down his role, and they changed the character to a new one, played by Patrick Bergin.

I would've like the film, better, if they had tried to stick to the end-plot of the first film. That is, Jobe was no longer physical. Or least, if he had to be, they could've found someone w/ a closer resemblance to Jeff Fahey. I saw it in the theater and was like, "isn't that Max Headroom?!!"
