        I doubt he used ketchup. It didn't resemble ketchup at all.

          Whatever movie makers and play producers use. I was in a play in my early 20's and the stuff that was used was purchased at a shop specializing in fake stuff for stage productions. It looked real, but it was a lot stickier than real blood.
