Alright, I'll just name the three that come up right now. There are more, though (and spoilers ahead, obviously).
Bambi: Bambi's mother.
The Lion King: Mufasa.
The Princess and the Frog: Ray.
And even people die, like Shan Yu (Mulan).
But I believe I've never seen a character die in any Pixar or Dreamworks movies.

Good calls, all, AliG! Ray was the first one that came to my mind, even though we've watched Bambi 3 times in the last month. You're probably right on the Pixar call (but I'm calling it a safe-ish bet Syndrome's not coming back), although Dreamworks is too big an umbrella for me to know.
