I remember watching the original back when network TV mini-series were almost as important to entertainment as summer blockbusters. Ted Danson provided both a comical and dramatic performance that made this mini-series awesome.
Every time it shows on cable/satellite I have to watch it. There's just something great about the way it unfolds and is displayed on screen.
Too bad the same can't be said for the Jack Black abomination made for theaters.
